    These non-profit organizations can offer various forms of financial literacy, debt reduction, and credit counseling services. If you need help paying off payday loans, paying bills, or preventing a foreclosure, then these organizations may be able to assist with those types of consumer debts. Most of the programs and resources are offered for free to qualified individuals, or there may be a minimal fee due in some cases.

    SmartMoney Community Services Get help reducing your debts, financial literacy, budgeting skills and economic education. In addition, they also offer credit repair and Budget Counseling, free advice, as well as credit union services. There is also access to hardship programs, credit card debt negotiation, matched savings incentives, homeownership counseling and entrepreneurship workshops.     Fifth Third's Financial Empowerment Mobile travels throughout the Bank's markets to reach neighborhoods in low- and moderate-income areas that have been traditionally underserved by banks. The mission of our Financial Empowerment Mobile is to take quality financial products and services directly to people and empower them to take control of their financial future. The Financial Empowerment Mobile is a 40-foot retrofitted vehicle staffed by Fifth Third professionals and equipped with onboard computer workstations and internet connectivity.

    LifeSpan, Inc
    A community action agency that also helps with debt and credit services. They are federal government certified. Local Ohio families, including the working poor and seniors, can learn about programs that help with payday loans, enter into a Debt Management Plan (DMP), and apply for other free services.
