This luncheon is open to all mental health and addiction professionals and those who work closely in the respected fields.
Hannah Schilling with Hamilton County Public Health co-founded the group, On the Front Lines, a peer support for peer supporters group created to bolster a small group of peers who often collaborated not only personally but professionally. From there we have blossomed. We are looking to hone in on the foundational basis of peer support; when people share common concerns or problems and provide emotional support and coping strategies to manage problems and promote personal growth. Peer support work is rooted in a trusting relationship between a person who is currently struggling and striving to find understanding and assistance, and the peer supporter whose personal history allows them to understand, support, and above all model a sense of hope.
