IHNGC established the Pet Support program to extend care to four-legged family members, allowing children and parents who become homeless to keep their dog, cat and/or small companion animals with them during their shelter stay rather than surrendering them to animal shelters or leaving them behind. The program provides a safe, on-site kenneling option for beloved family pets to stay alongside their human family as they work to regain stability.

PACT for Animals
Has two foster programs to assist pet owners who temporarily cannot care for their pets, so they can be reunited once they are able.
The Military program also covers military support personnel. PACT’s Medical program provides foster care for the pets of hospital patients requiring extended stay or recovery. This includes mental illness or drug/alcohol treatment. 

How these programs work:

PACT for Animals will follow you through the process to help ensure your pet can find a safe and secure foster home while you are unable to care for your pet. PACT screens the fosters and tries to match up your pet or pets with a foster home that meets their needs.

The owner is responsible for all food, treats, and supplies that were agreed upon in the contract.

Peace for Pets ~ Safe Haven for Animals is a short term foster care program for the companion animals of individuals who are in a domestic violence situation. There is a link between domestic violence and animal cruelty. Many abusers use the family's pet as a ploy to control and/or intimidate the victim of abuse by threatening to cruelly harm or kill the pets.

Our foster care program provides service for up to 90 days, making it easier for families to remove themselves from the abusive situation and get the help they need.
